ABOUT THIS MODEL

Description & specifications

I had been following the evolution of the low priced V-8 car since my father bought a station wagon in 1953. While working at a new job at Douglas aircraft I moved from the San Fernando Valley to Long Beach where when my license plate was confronted I parked my old car and placed an order for a last of 1964 version of the then new 396 cubic inch car. These two show how a convertible with a bench became a coupe with buckets and high end trim for 1966. My model began as a bandsawed wood block mockup created in digital 3D. I then worked it as if with a Dremel and bits until I sort of saw the envelope. Wheels and tires were easy with lathe and donut commands. This is as of 2017 marvelling at how long it took me to make a decent closed car. This year had a wheelbase shortened in later models and much less than the pony car introduced in 1967. I didn?t like the fake hood scoops. The seat upholstery modelling was tough.Credits:stonermail Rate this 3D modelDownload 3D modelsFileFile size parkwood-on-lakewood11 MB
