The system was in two parts, a pair of PC speakers and the Raspberry Pi 3 itself. The cases were made by plywood of 3mm thickness.[PC speakers]I designed the speaker cases with this tool, www.makercase.com . It allows you to set the size , draws holes and text. It will automatically generate a svg file for laser cutting.For the electronics parts, I used two 2? speaker drivers and a speaker cable with amp, usb and 3.5mm plug built-in.[Raspberry Pi Case]Originally I designed the case for 3D printing. I found the design also suitable for laser cutting. The upper and lower panel was connected with nylon screws.I used Raspberry Pi ?s 3.5mm jack for audio output, usb port to power up the speakers. Of course, you may add a dac expansion board onto the Raspberry Pi to make the audio output even better.[Software]Volumio was installed for audio playback.
