It has a removable mag and can light up with theses lights https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZMGHLU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I just wound the EL wire up and down both sides until all the rail was covered. To paint the rails I just covered up the black parts with painters tape and used silver spray paint to paint the center. The fit for the wire might be a little tight but I found if you remove the clip on the back and file out some of the holes it fits nicely.
