On my Replicator 2 the 0.1 mm gap between ball joint outer and inner parts provide quite a lot of friction, which is necessary to keep the camera fixed in all positions.Assembly is limited to sliding the two holder parts together and twisting the stand base in place.To prevent the phone to slide sideways in the holder, you can add a strip of rubber or similar on the lower holder.
